The 42nd Congress of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery ESCRS took place in Barcelona, Spain, between 6-10 September 2024.
Following the highly successful ESCRS Congress in Vienna in 2023, the ESCRS community hosted surgeons from around the world at Fira de Barcelona, one of the largest and most modern exhibition centers in Europe, located in the center of Barcelona. .
This Congress offered a new opportunity to share the latest developments and innovations in the field of ophthalmology, learn about the latest developments in the industry and network with colleagues and experts from around the world. Within the scope of the congress; There were Symposiums, Trainings, Laboratory Studies, Video Sessions and Presentations.
In these meetings, attended by valuable and respected surgeons from all over the world, we came together with our leading colleagues in laser and cataract surgery from Turkey and exchanged information. We followed new developments in the meetings we attended and had the opportunity to examine new devices used in the diagnosis and treatment of eye health and diseases.
As eye surgeons, we are sometimes surprised and sometimes excited by technological innovations, but we always try to stay involved. The developments regarding “Lenticule Surgery”, which we had the opportunity to examine within the scope of the congress, were very exciting. We tried the new generation “Lenticule Surgery Devices”. We closely followed the latest developments in laser and intraocular lenses. We look forward to applying what we have learned to our patients.
