See how you perceive colours in a few minutes

A colour vision difference often goes unnoticed; people assume everyone sees colours the same way. This screening gives you a quick idea by checking whether you can pick out the number in the dotted plates.

Take your result with you: it can be confirmed with a colour vision assessment at our practice in Alsancak, Izmir. The distinction matters particularly for occupations that require colour discrimination, such as driving, aviation, electrical engineering and healthcare.

What does this result mean?

Color blindness means that some of the color-sensitive cone cells in the retina work differently. The most common form is the red-green type, in which red and green tones are perceived as similar; it is usually congenital. Color vision changes that appear later in life may be an early sign of optic nerve or retinal disease and should always be evaluated.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is the colour blindness test performed?

Set screen brightness to a normal level, turn off night mode and colour filters, and look straight at the screen from about 60-70 cm. Mark the number you see on each plate without overthinking; the plate is hidden after a set time.

Can colour blindness be treated?

Congenital red-green colour blindness has no known cure and does not change during life. Some special filter glasses can increase contrast and make daily life easier, but they do not restore normal colour vision.

Can I test my child?

Yes. The test has a shapes mode for children who cannot read yet; instead of numbers they choose circle, triangle or square. Colour blindness is usually noticed at school age, and early detection helps with schooling and career choices.
